However, we are also open to experienced instructors who demonstrate the right attitude, maturity and willingness to develop their leadership skills.Your Responsibilities Will Include:Class InstructionDeliver skating sessions confidently, providing clear instruction, demonstrations, activities and guidance appropriate to the children's skating abilities.Follow session plans and help structure activities to keep children engaged, learning and enjoying their session.Adapt instruction where necessary to accommodate different abilities, confidence levels and learning needs.Ensure your class runs smoothly and to schedule.Behaviour ManagementManage children's behaviour confidently, calmly and fairly.Set clear expectations and boundaries within your class.Deal appropriately with disruptive or challenging behaviour while maintaining a positive environment.Escalate serious behavioural or safeguarding concerns to management when necessary.Child Safety & SafeguardingMaintain active supervision of children throughout sessions.Follow Nikcarl's safeguarding, health and safety and child-protection procedures.Ensure children are skating safely and using appropriate protective equipment.Respond appropriately to accidents, injuries and emergencies.Report accidents, incidents and safeguarding concerns promptly.A valid First Aid qualification is desirable, or you must be willing to obtain one if required for the role.Parent & Guardian CommunicationWelcome and communicate professionally with parents and guardians.Answer questions relating to their child's participation and skating development where appropriate.Provide parents with positive and constructive feedback about their child's progress.Communicate any relevant concerns regarding behaviour, safety, injuries or incidents to the appropriate parent/guardian and management.Represent Nikcarl professionally at all times.TeamworkWork closely with other instructors and assistants to ensure sessions run smoothly.Support less-experienced team members when required.Communicate effectively with the team before, during and after classes.Equipment ManagementEnsure skating equipment, protective equipment and other session materials are prepared and ready for use.Assist children with putting on and adjusting their skating equipment where necessary.Ensure equipment is used safely and returned correctly after sessions.Report damaged or unsafe equipment to management.Setup & Clean-upAssist with the setup of the skating area before sessions and events.Ensure the skating area is safe and ready for participants.Ensure equipment and the venue are left clean, organised and secure following sessions. We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic people to join our team as Skate Assistants. This role is open to both skaters and non-skaters. You do not need to be able to skate confidently, as your role is to support the instructor and help sessions run smoothly, not to teach skating. Skate Assistants help create a safe, organised and positive environment by providing extra support to instructors, children and families during sessions. For younger applicants, this is a supervised junior role designed to help develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.Role OverviewAs a Skate Assistant, you will work alongside our skating instructors and wider team to help sessions run smoothly. Your role is to support the instructor(s) by providing extra help where needed.
